This 1979 Jeep CJ5 could very well be the nicest Jeep on the planet.  It was originally born in 1979 and is a certified one-owner vehicle.  We have the original title from 1979 (note that is is not the newer 17 digit VIN).  It has only 25k actual miles and looks like it has even less!  This vehicle has been continually updated and upgraded for the past 30+ years.  There is over $25,000 in upgrades alone to this vehicle and all were professionally done by the same 4x4 shop. It has been garaged and babies since birth and you will not find a nicer cleaner one anywhere.  Paint is original Jeep color from 1979. 


What makes this bad boy special is basically everything.  Not only does it have only 25K verified original miles, but there is only 5K on the new engine.  No problem with the original 304, but the owner simply wanted more juice, so he had it upgraded to a new AMC 401.  This fresh 401 comes complete with Howell fuel injection and is seamlessly connected to a 909 Automatic tranny. The transmission connects to 3.73 gears which are connected to "easy lockers" in the rear axle for that extra push.  Everything is top of the line and professionally installed. 


The 4x4 works via Dana transfer cases and is also equipped with twin control sticks for both ends.  Basically you can run this as a front wheel drive if you want.  There is a new 23 gallon fuel tank installed with an "inside-the-tank" fuel pump for perfect operation every time.  It pumps that fuel injection like no other!


The new 401 has had an air compressor unit added where an A/C compressor could have been added.  This compressor connects to under hood controls and is piped into a custom made "hollow" front bumper that is used as the air tank for the compressor.  That means no waiting for the air.  There is then a quick connect air hook-up under the hood and the hose is nicely stored under the front seat.  (See pictures)  


The front bumper also houses a top of the line Warn 9500 winch to pull you out of a tight place if needed.  The rear has been modified with custom Chevy tail lights and a locking (interior release) gas access.  Look twice at the pics because it all fits so seamlessly you won't notice.  The Jeep is riding around on almost new BFG 33X12.5x15 AT tires.  The top and interior seating are custom "bestop" pieces.  Easy removal 1/2 door sections with Velcro seals and fabric that looks so new you will know it is.  The Bestop Super Seats could be nicest ones you will ever sit in!  The Custom adjustable/tilting steering column will make anyone's ride more comfortable.  The interior knobs and gauges speak for themselves.  Take a look at the pics.
